About Northwest Leadership Consulting
When leaders flourish, so do their organizations.
Meet Kendall Clawson, Principal Consultant
Leading is one of the most meaningful things you can do. It's also one of the loneliest. The expectations are high, the decisions are constant, and there aren't many spaces where you can be honest about how hard it actually is.
Kendall Clawson built Northwest Leadership Consulting because she spent more than three decades in nonprofit leadership, government, and executive roles, and she knows firsthand what leaders are facing as they navigate their personal and professional goals.
She's an advocate for equity in leadership spaces, a seasoned Executive Director and board member, and someone who believes deeply that leaders are at their best when they feel genuinely cared for and understood.
Outside of the work, Kendall is a world traveler, an art collector, a devoted dog lover, and the author of A Kids Book About Pride, celebrating the courage and passion of LGBTQIA+ people today and throughout history. She has called Seattle, Washington home for the past several years.
While the idea of leadership can seem glamorous, the responsibility of crafting an organizational vision, moving that vision into action, and being there for your team can be a lot to carry. Meeting these expectations while trying to take care of yourself is often the reason why leaders experience burn out and leave their jobs. But we are here to help. Whether you want to clarify who you are on your leadership journey or need help meeting your professional goals and deliverables, having an experienced leadership support team by your side makes all the difference.
Because leaders need support too.
Let’s face it: leading isn't easy.
I Get It.
Thirty years in leadership roles taught me one thing above everything else. The work is meaningful and the weight of it is real. Executive Directors carry their organizations in ways that are hard to explain to people who haven't done it. Board members show up with the best intentions and sometimes don't know what they don't know. And everyone is expected to keep moving forward, even when the path isn't clear.
That's exactly why this work matters to me. You deserve a thought partner who has sat where you sit, who understands what you're carrying, and who is genuinely invested in helping you lead well for the long haul.
